The District Diva is a twenty-something recent law school grad and even more recent District resident. While she is very aware of the strong possibility that her online musings will be more of a personal diary than a D.C. survival guide for young women in the city, she still holds out hope that someone besides her mother will enjoy her blog!
The Inspiration for the Blog Title: I must admit, the idea for the title “The Dithering of a District Diva” came from none other than the evil sith lord Darth Cheney. When he continuously said that Obama was “dithering” on his decision of whether to send 40,000 of our soldiers, friends, siblings, mothers, fathers, lovers, I couldn’t help but think: man! I sure wish Bush had “dithered” before he got us into Iraq and a $1.3 trillion deficit! And that could only lead to the obvious conclusion that “dithering” wasn’t so bad.
So, the word does not have a negative connotation to me, and honestly describes me “to a ‘t’”: very self-aware, analytical, and thoughtful of the impact my actions will have on the world before I make a decision. Yet, sometimes I do shoot from the hip and regret my decisions. It is fair to say that I am consistently inconsistent. But, I am figuring it out. And I’d love to take you along for the ride.
